Designing for education.

Aesthetics
Our doorset solutions are available in a huge range of finish options to deliver a distinctive appearance and aesthetic appeal.

Performance
Delivering certified performance for:

  • Acoustic - Sound reduction up to 46RwdB
  • Fire - Fire resistance up to FD120
  • Security - High security up to ‘delayed entry level 3’

Finger protection
Sentinel and Safe Hinge is an innovative hand and finger protection solution that allows specifiers and architects to achieve outstanding performance, without compromising design or architectural integrity. As an integral part of the doorset, the scalloped timber (Sentinel) or aluminium (Safe Hinge) profile brings the following key advantages:

  • Prevents the crushing and shearing of fingers (adults and children)
  • An integral robust solution to reduce the potential for misuse or vandalism and ensure long-term reliability
  • Fully complies with Approved Documents and can be incorporated into all Priority Schools Building Programme (PSBP) applications
  • Achieves 30 RwdB making it ideal for classroom entrance doorsets
  • Cannot be forcibly removed, negating the cost of ongoing replacement
  • Offers wide choice of design aesthetics to the specifier/designer
  • Modern design and smooth line profile is ideal for design-led environments
  • Provides creative freedom and flexibility for specifiers and designers

Anti-bacterial
A biocidally proactive additive is integral to our lacquer finishes that provides protection against harmful bacteria such as E.coli, salmonella and MRSA. It works by preventing the bacteria’s access to nutrients so that they starve and die. It does not employ silver technology, rendering it completely UV stable and remains effective for years because of its inherently low water solubility.

  • 99.9 percent kill rate over a 24 hour period
  • non-carcinogenic
  • non-mutagenic
  • non skin sensitising
  • UV stable
  • Independently tested and verified

Glazing

Glazing has a major impact on fire performance and limitations are identified in the Approved Documents. Aperture shape and position, glazed area, style of bead and type of glass all influence fire performance, as well as appearance. The most commonly used aperture configurations, all available with fire certification up to 120 minutes, can be seen in the technical support section under vision panels. Bespoke glazing shapes and sizes can also be specified -  Please contact our Technical Team on 01623 343125 to discuss your requirements.

Pivette

The sliding, folding mechanics of Pivette make it a versatile solution where functionality, access and space are important considerations. The unique two-leaf articulated door minimises door swing area whilst maximising clear opening widths.

Pivette offers a solution to a wide range of design problems presented by Part M of the Approved Documents and BS8300

  • Uses only one third of a conventional door swing area
  • Maximises opening area for optimum accessibility
  • Straightforward to install and easy to operate
  • Outward opening WC doors, substantially reducing the corridor width
  • Doors opening onto landings, leaving access space to comply with Part K
  • Lobbies with space required for wheelchair access between doorways
  • Sanitary accommodation doors opening outwards onto circulation space
  • Emergency release option
